The Extension and Refurbishment
This vital extension at St. Christopher’s Hospice (including 16 new state-of-the art specialist hospice bedrooms) and a major refurbishment to clinical, patient, family, and communal areas. It will also include redeveloping and landscaping of the outdoor space and gardens. When completed in 2024, it will greatly enhance the end-of-life palliative care experience for patients and loved ones.
The extension and redevelopment will cost circa €6m. Works will include a new quadrangle of 16 single patient bedrooms. Each room will have all the latest technologies giving patients full control of their environment. All patient rooms will have access to a personal patio overlooking the landscaped gardens.
Respite, Day Care/Outpatient services will be provided and the service will be integrated with the existing 7 day community-based Homecare services.
The respite and bereavement services will also support patient’s loved ones.
